"I discovered my lump while training for my first half marathon back in October 2013 after doing my self exam. I was diagnosed in December 2013 with Stage IIB, Estrogen Positive, Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. I had a radical mastectomy, chemo therapy, radiation, hysterectomy, and reconstructive surgery.
I want everyone to be aware of their bodies and to be their own advocate. I want people to know their family history, and more importantly stop being quiet about breast cancer or any cancer for that matter.
Breast Cancer awareness is not just in October. It is 365 days a year.
To help with my anxiety, I continue my exercise regimen which helps me stay focused. I also attend support groups.
I’m grateful for all of my blessings, striving and thriving, and of course- my son."
